Hello there,

I've been playing around with Contiki 2.1 today and as a result, I wrote a program for the c64 that lets you customize your Contiki network configuration (contiki.cfg), just as Oliver's web tool does . It's simple, absolutely not fool-proof and - the moment - c64 based only. But yet very useful. Enjoy!

UPDATE:
The new program now allows manual selection of the drive # to which the config file will be written (thanks to schema for mentioning that problem). The new file is attached to this posting.

Finally got around to trying this. Thanks! A couple of suggestions though...

  • The device# is hardcoded to #8 which could be fixed to use the current drive from $BA. (Mind you, it's haardcoded in Contiki as well [sigh] so it's not that big of an issue.)
  • Feel free to use my IP address input routine: http://codebase64.org/doku.php?id=base:ip_address_input
  • Echoing back what you entered to confirm before saving would be very handy!

I've added manual selection of the device # and also a confirmation routine before saving. See updated original posting.

Hi,

Just for the sake of completeness I'd like to add that the recently made available Contiki 2.4 binary release for Retrocomputing contains a DHCP client which beside actually using DHCP as well allows to manually edit the IP settings in the Contiki network configuration file (contiki.cfg) using an interactive (mouse-enabled) UI. However there's no possibility to edit the Ethernet driver and Ethernet port settings.

Regards,
Oliver
