We have Contiki v2.1 working after Oliver ported it over winning the last challenge.
There is however a problem with missing packets in all the Commodore ported Contiki apps.
This problem happens not on the local network but once connected to the internet.
This bug has stopped the porting over of more stand alone apps from the Contiki v2 arsenal
as Olivers time is at a premium and once solved many stand alone Conikit apps will follow including
irc and Web browser already waiting for this bug fix.

To find the bug load up Contiki v2.1 get it here www.cbm8bit.com/contiki/ unless you can compile your own.
Make a large web page or use this one www.c64web.com/index.html .
Access it from outside your local network.

When accessing your web page you will notice missing html this is the bug.

I hope to find out it's simply a routing problem or network settings etc but i think its in the c64 files that make up
the contiki port as this problem does not happen with the apple 8bit port Oliver does.

There is a MMC-Replay with RRnet in a red clear cartridge case if anyone can figure out the problem and fix it :)
http://www.vesalia.de/e_mmcreplay.htm
Hopefully this will help to encourage someone to take a fresh look at the problem. :)

I am going to put a 30day limit on finding a fix for this bug to add little urgency to it but will extend this if results
are encouraging.

I worded this post in a rush as its 1am, more info as interest and question follow this post. Have Fun Shane

Hi there,

Do you have the source to the version you are making available on http://www.cbm8bit.com/contiki/ ?

I'm quite interested to see how you get the server to use a custom "index.html" .. if I just copy over a file of the same name into the D71 image (I'm using a C128), like the one you suggest to use, then I just get "404 - file not found"

Is the code the same as in the main Contiki CVS ? Or has it deviated from that ?

Regards

Mark

For reference my setup is:

C128, MMCReplay+RRNet, and a 1571

Oliver ported the apple c64 and c128 over best to email him.

All you should need to do is download the c128 version from cbm8bit then copy your own index.html
onto the same floppy disk as the rest of contiki.

You can simply link your custom .html file from the html file that you compile into contiki.

p.s the index.html file MUST be in drive 8 and not 9.

Hmmm .. maybe there is something wrong with the way I'm copying the new index.html file over ?

What I'm doing is this.

1) Open the contiki.d71 image in Diskimagery64 (OSX version)
2) Deleting the index.html file from the image
3) Drag n drop the new index.html onto the image
4) Save the image
5) Fire up codenet on the Retroreplay+rrnet
6) Startup Warpcopy from Diskimagery and write the D71 to a floppy in a 1571 drive (drive 8)
7) Reboot the C128 and load Contiki
8) Point a web browser at the C128s IP address.

All I get is the 404 message, the contents of which I guess are in notfound.html

Is there any pre-processing needing done on the html files before they are copied over ? Plain ASCII ok ? Maybe a different .d64/71 image handler for OSX would give different results.

Over the weekend I'll do my own bit of html, maybe something simpler and see how that goes.

Regards

Mark
